Summary of the contracting process

Leicester City Council has recently completed the procurement process for the "ASC0257 - Supported Living Services" project, which focuses on providing essential health and social work services. The procurement was conducted under the light touch regime, as described in the Public Contract Regulations 2015. Key components of the contract include multiple lots catering to various demographics, including individuals with learning disabilities, older adults, and those with complex needs. The contracts worth £140 million will commence from 2 November 2020 and will run until 31 October 2027, with potential extensions. The procurement stage is now complete, following an open procedure that invited various service providers to submit tenders. The primary delivery area for the services will be in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom.

This tender opportunity is ideal for businesses in the health and social care sector, particularly those that specialise in supported living services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that can provide innovative and responsive services may find a competitive edge in this market. Companies that focus on assistive care, dementia support, and services for individuals with mental health challenges are well-suited to participate. The sizeable investment promises significant growth opportunities for participating organisations, enhancing their service offerings while contributing positively to community welfare.
