Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council has completed the procurement process for the "Ageing Well Care Homes Framework (Round 3)." This framework agreement is part of the Health and Social Work Services industry, valued at £100,000,000 GBP. The procurement utilizes an open procedure, ensuring full transparency and competitiveness. This framework is set to begin on 8th January 2024 and will run until 30th June 2027, with a possible extension of up to an additional five years in 12-month increments. This agreement will be utilized by Nottinghamshire County Council and NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership, covering care home placements for older individuals, primarily those aged 65 and over, in CQC-registered establishments within Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. Additionally, it allows for out-of-county placements under certain terms.

This framework offers considerable opportunities for experienced care home service providers, including SMEs and VCSEs, to expand their business. By becoming a part of this established framework, providers can secure call-off contracts, thus potentially increasing their revenue and market presence. The framework's broad geographic scope, encompassing regions such as the East Midlands, London, and even extending to Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, offers ample room for qualified providers to tap into new markets. Businesses that are CQC-registered and experienced in delivering high-quality care for the elderly are particularly well-suited to compete within this framework.
