Notice Title

PHE - Porton Down Steam & Condensate Design and Build

Notice Description

The main site at Porton utilises steam and condensate for production activities, for general process activities such as autoclaves, for heating services for BIG activities and for general heating and hot water services. The distribution mains for the steam and condensate are ageing and failing on a regular occurrence. One set of mains originally providing a diverse means of supply has been disconnected due to their poor condition and constant failure. This means the site is now operating on one pair of mains and any major leakage necessitates an emergency shut down of the site steam supply.
