Consultancy Service for Civil Engineering at Broadwater Lake

Notice Description

A civil engineering multidisciplinary consultant is required to deliver Part Three and Four of the works listed below. The Hillingdon Water Sports Facility and Activity Centre is a replacement for an existing facility displaced by the HS2 railway line. The new site at Broadwater Lake is an abandoned gravel quarry, that is brownfield and unremediated, and assessed as being in ecological decline. The works include the provision of a new main building and club house and ecological centre, workshop and boat shed, and ancillary construction such as carp parks, service roads, including reclamation and dredging. This is an exciting project, based on zero carbon principles, no gas supply is required, and all domestic hot water and heating will be provided by water source heat pumps powered by solar electricity. Note the entire site is within a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The works are to be split into the following packages; 1.Enabling works such as security, fencing, CCTV, and early removal of asbestos cement contamination. Provided by existing Council measure term contracts. 2.Building works, including the main building, sheds, shelters, play equipment and toilets. With a separate building consultant and building contractor. 3.Civil Engineering works, including horizontal directional drilling for utility access beneath old landfill, a canal and lagoon, the refurbishment off site of an historic canal bridge, the reconstruction of part of a service road, rainwater drainage, sewage attenuation and sewage pumping station, all utility installations (water, storm sewers, foul sewers, telephone, and data, high voltage electricity) including an energy centre for battery storage. 4.Reclamation and dredging in a lake to improve the sailing grounds and provide enhanced ecological habitat and environmental improvement.
