Summary of the contracting process

The West Berkshire Council is conducting an open tender for the "Voluntary Sector Prospectus," which aims to support services within the Community and Voluntary Sector (CVS) from 2020 to 2023. This procurement process is classified under health and social work services, with a total budget of £2,156,925. The tender period is set to end on 11th November 2019, and the contract execution will commence on 1st April 2020, concluding on 31st March 2023. Providers can apply for multiple service Lots under this prospectus.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the social care, health, and community service sectors, particularly those that focus on innovation and social value creation. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement method emphasises fair and transparent processes tailored for the sector. Companies involved in delivering support services or developing community initiatives are particularly well-suited to compete for these contracts, fostering growth and potential partnerships within the region.

Notice Title

Voluntary Sector Prospectus

Notice Description

The Community and Voluntary Sector (CVS) are key partners for the Council in meeting the challenge of rising demand for services in the context of increasingly limited resources. Council investment in the sector is highly valued for the range of support services that are funded in this way to meet the needs of people in the district. In 2015 the Council launched a prospectus approach to awarding funding to the CVS. Considered to have been successful in its delivery the Council has now taken a decision to refresh and publish for the second time a Community and Voluntary Sector Prospectus for 2020 - 2023. The prospectus approach is intended to provide a fair, transparent and accessible procurement process that is appropriate for the sector. Cross cutting in its approach the 2020 - 2023 round seeks to build on the achievements and learning of the first round, with a further three years of funding to promote enterprise, innovation and social value. The Services within the Voluntary Sector Prospectus are referred to as Lots. Providers can apply for more than one Lot, one application form must be submitted for each Lot.
