Summary of the contracting process

The Grey to Green Public Art Commissions, initiated by Sheffield City Council, aim to enhance the West Bar area of Sheffield City Centre through a transformative art project. This initiative, valued at £26,000, is currently in the Award stage after the tender period closed on 10th August 2015. The project involves creating five 4m high totems filled with artwork, supported by a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS). The commissions leverage artistic and literary creation services and were published on 21st July 2015, with a contract period beginning on 1st September 2015 and concluding on 16th October 2015.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses involved in artistic design and public installation. Companies specialising in graphic design, stone, metal, and reflective artworks would be particularly well-suited to compete, especially small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary or community sector enterprises (VCSEs). Engaging in this project can facilitate business growth by contributing to a significant public development initiative that aims to enhance urban aesthetics and functionality.
