Summary of the contracting process

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is currently inviting tenders for the "Fixed Wire Testing - HGS Sites" project, which involves fixed wiring inspections, testing, and thermographic surveys. This opportunity falls under the electrical wiring work industry category and has a maximum contract value of £150,000. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the tender submission period ends on 28th February 2020. The contract period is set to commence on 16th March 2020 and will run until 15th March 2023. The delivery location is Birmingham, specifically the postal code B15 1NU in the West Midlands.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in electrical services, especially those with experience working in acute hospital environments. Companies that hold the necessary qualifications, including the 18th Edition regulation and C&G 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualifications, would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, businesses with a robust process for record-keeping related to inspections and remedial works will be at an advantage in the selection criteria. Given the focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs), this could enhance competition and increase the likelihood of winning contracts for qualified bidders.
