Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Sheffield CCG has recently completed a tender process for the "Physical Health Outcomes - LD" project, aimed at improving health services for people with learning disabilities in the Yorkshire and the Humber region. This initiative, classified under CPV 85100000 (Health services), had a procurement method defined as an open procedure, and the contract is valued at £200,000, with a minimum value of £120,000. The contract period is set to commence from 1st April 2022 and will continue until 31st March 2025. Notably, the procurement reached its deadline for tenders on 17th December 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SME and VCSE businesses that specialise in health and social services, particularly those focused on supporting individuals with learning disabilities. Businesses that can demonstrate experience in conducting outreach and enhancing access to health checks and vaccinations are especially well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the importance of addressing health inequalities in this demographic, successful bidders are likely to engage with general practitioners and have a meaningful impact within the local community.
