Notice Title
MA17 - Site Investigation & Anchoring for FOW
Notice Description
One challenge for the deployment of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWTs) is designing and installing anchors that are both reliable and cost-effective, whilst being capable of withstanding the dynamic loads exerted by the mooring lines. Site investigation is a critical stage in the design of these anchors. It gives vital data on seabed geology, soil properties, and environmental conditions, all of which influence the choice of anchor type, its performance, and the installation method. The site investigation for offshore anchors typically encompasses a mix of geophysical and geotechnical surveys. The specific methods and equipment used are dictated by the characteristics of the site in question.
