Notice Description

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) will be commencing a Market Engagement session for the development and delivery of the NHS Patient Safety Syllabus training. The development and delivery of the NHS Patient Safety Syllabus is a key component of the strategy. The aim is to train the NHS workforce in England in the knowledge and skills required to continuously improve patient safety and build systems capacity and capability for safer patient care. The NHS Patient Safety Syllabus spans five levels of training Level 1 is targeted to all healthcare staff and includes a Level 1 module for Executive Boards. Level 2 is targeted for managers and/or those who wish to know more about Patient Safety and proactive risk assessment. And Level 3-5 is a requirement for all Patient Safety Specialists working across health and care services in England. The aim would be to train an initial cohort of 822 Patient Safety Specialists in level 3 and 4, we will potentially commission one or more external providers to develop and deliver the 19 learning modules. The learning modules will translate the NHS Patient Safety Syllabus into delivery and provide the health and care workforce with the knowledge, skills and support to build the capacity to deliver safer care at local and system level. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. We plan to hold a Market Engagement session on Thursday 13 October 2022, 11:00-12:30 to share more information with organisations interested in this potential opportunity. The event will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender, the process that we anticipate following, general discussion and an opportunity to network. Please RSVP by 12noon (midday) on Tuesday 11th October 2022 with the name, title and contact details for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) to: patientsafety@hee.nhs.uk An invite to the MS Teams session will be sent prior to 13 October 2022. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence and may influence and inform the development of the final tender. The contracting authority reserves the right not to proceed with the Procurement, or any part thereof, or change the requirements as necessary at any time. The procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and is expected to be published by the end of October 2022. A separate advert will be released advertising the opportunity.
