Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Shared Business Services is currently awarding a contract for the "Whole Systems Self-Care Service (Community)" aimed at enhancing anticipatory care and reducing crises for patients registered with GPs in West London. This health services contract, valued at £239,365, will be effective from 1st April 2018 until 31st March 2019, with an option for a one-year extension. The procurement method employed is a direct award without competition, facilitated due to the assessment that the incumbent provider is the only capable supplier during this transitional phase of developing a new integrated care model for individuals aged over 65.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses focused on health and social care services, particularly those with experience in supporting integrated care pathways or providing community health services. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be particularly well-suited to participate, especially given the plans for market engagement by the NHS West London CCG in March 2018. This engagement aims to inform the specifications for substantive contracts anticipated to be awarded from 2019, creating a potential growth avenue for businesses ready to align with the evolving healthcare landscape.
