Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Business Services Authority is seeking suppliers for the "Pharmacy API Development Phase 1" project, which falls under the IT services industry. The procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with the deadline for submission of EoI and Tender Responses set for 12:00 noon on 24 March 2022. The address for bid submissions is located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE15 8NY, United Kingdom. This tender involves developing APIs for NHSBSA that facilitate data transmission for community pharmacy services, with the total contract value estimated at £40,000.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for software development firms specialising in health services, particularly those with experience in API integration and NHS systems. Businesses that can demonstrate existing capabilities in using the Manage Your Service (MYS) API, accessing the Personal Demographics Service (PDS), and working with the Directory of Service (DoS) API for the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) will be well-positioned to compete. The successful development, testing, and implementation of these APIs could enhance service delivery within the NHS and provide a profitable avenue for growth for the involved suppliers.
