Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Haringey is currently in the planning stage for a joint procurement of Children's Advocacy Services in collaboration with the London Borough of Enfield. This process is set within the Health and Social Work Services industry category and is aimed at providing independent and confidential advocacy services for children and young people up to the age of 18, or 25 if they are care-leavers. The engagement end date for the soft market testing is 9th October 2024, with businesses having until 13:00 hrs on that day to submit their completed questionnaires via the Council's e-tendering portal, HPCS. The key aim at this stage is to inform potential providers about the upcoming procurement, gather market interest, and solicit valuable input.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for SMEs and VCSEs operating within the health and social work sector to expand their business by securing a public contract. The advocacy service, being a statutory requirement under various laws including the Adoption and Children Act 2002, requires expertise in safeguarding children and ensuring their voices are heard. Businesses specialising in child welfare, advocacy, and social work with a focus on vulnerable youth will be well-suited to compete for this contract. Additional business growth can be realised through long-term engagements and by contributing to a crucial aspect of social services within the London Boroughs.
