Notice Description

This service is to cover all of HM Prisons, and service will be conducted remotely. The Public Protection Group (part of HMPPS) require independent medical advisors to provide a view whether an application meets the requirements in the Early Release on Compassionate Grounds Policy Framework. Advisors must be a qualified doctor with current registration to the General Medical Council, as per the ERCG Policy Framework. The medical advisor will be expected to review the reports, provide a plain English summary and provide a view on whether the clinical criteria for consideration for ERCG has been met. This will be written in a format that is accessible to non-clinical personnel within PPCS/HMPPS, to inform their decision making.
