Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council is seeking to establish a framework for arboriculture services, including standard, time-sensitive, and emergency work along public highways within the region. This procurement process, classified under the 'Trees' category, will also consider all legal and operational requirements as per the specification document. The procurement is currently in the Participation Stage, using a selective methodology within a restricted procedure framework. Interested businesses must submit their expressions of interest by the tender period end date of 16 September 2025. The successful framework agreement is projected to start on 1 April 2026 and have an initial term of three years, with the potential for a two-year extension.

This tender presents a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in arboriculture services, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as they are encouraged to participate. With a budget of £4,500,000, it attracts companies capable of delivering high-quality, timely services under pressure. Firms located within or able to provide services to the South East of the UK will find this contract particularly accessible. Participating at this stage could position a business as one of the top six contenders advanced to the Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage, allowing them to establish a long-term partnership with the council.
