Summary of the contracting process

The University of Nottingham is seeking tenders for a "Minor Works - Building Framework" aimed at qualified contractors in the construction industry. The estimated contract value is £18 million, with a maximum duration of four years, comprising an initial two-year term followed by optional one-year extensions. The tender period concludes on 16 August 2021, and the projected start of mobilisation is September or October 2021. Contracts will be allocated based on cost bands categorized into two lots, with awarded contracts to be governed by the Joint Contracts Tribunal Limited 2016 suite of contracts.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for contractors specialised in construction work, particularly those capable of handling projects ranging from small to medium sizes, as reflected in the estimated yearly values for each lot. Businesses that can demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical practices, such as eliminating modern slavery within the supply chain, will be well-positioned to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to apply, given the emphasis on engaging a diverse contractor base for the successful fulfilment of this framework.
