Summary of the contracting process

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is seeking health economic consulting services for its Dementia Challenge. The work covers meta-analysis and real-world clinical evaluation studies, supporting projects concerned with dementia research and assessment. This is a research and economic analysis service, classified as economic research services (CPV 79311400), rather than a supply of goods or construction work. The contracting organisation is UKRI, based in Swindon, and the requirement is associated with its South West location. The opportunity is intended for providers able to deliver specialist health economics input across the Dementia Challenge projects, including analysis of evidence and evaluation of clinical outcomes in real-world settings.

The process has reached tender: UKRI invited offers through a selective further competition, specifically a call-off from the Government Commercial Agency’s Research and Insights Dynamic Purchasing System, framework RM6126. The tender deadline was 16 September 2026 at 3:00 pm. The planned contract period runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2029. Its estimated total value is £750,000. Evaluation is conducted through the invitation and tender documents issued to the relevant suppliers. Participation requires registration on the specified Dynamic Purchasing System categories and UKRI’s Atamis eTendering portal. Clarifications and submissions must be made through Atamis and within the deadlines in the Invitation to Tender Pack.

This opportunity suits established health economics consultancies and research organisations with expertise in economic appraisal and behavioural economics, public health, and long-term illness. Suppliers need specific capability in dementia-related health economic consulting, meta-analysis, and real-world clinical evaluation studies. The requirement is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises, so specialist firms may be well placed to compete if they meet the framework and portal conditions. A supplier must already be registered on the RM6126 Dynamic Purchasing System under the relevant category filters: Economics (appraisal and behavioural), Public Health, or Long-term illness. It must also be registered on UKRI’s Atamis portal to receive the invitation, access the tender documents, submit clarifications and lodge its offer.
