Summary of the contracting process

The City of London Corporation is currently inviting tenders for the position of Acoustic Consultant for the Centre for Music project, which falls within the sound insulation and room acoustics consultancy services category. This procurement process is at the tender stage, with applications closing on 19 June 2017. The project is set to be delivered using Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 and is planned to extend over a period of 9.5 years from the start of the contract on 7 August 2017, potentially culminating in completion by 8 February 2027. The estimated budget for the completion of the concept design is £50,000, excluding VAT.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in acoustic consultancy and BIM-related services. Companies with expertise in sound insulation and a proven approach to integrating collaborative designs are particularly well-suited to apply. The process not only encourages small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to compete but also emphasises the need for rigorous probity checks, thus enabling reputable firms to secure meaningful contracts within a project that is susceptible to organised crime group infiltration.
