Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is currently in the planning stage of their "Supply Chain Transition (Investment Zone)" initiative, aimed at facilitating business development within the Advanced Manufacturing sector in the West Midlands, UK. The programme aims to support various businesses in adapting and thriving in growing sectors of the global economy. A significant engagement milestone is scheduled, with an end date of 23rd September 2024. A pre-tender in-person market engagement workshop will be held on 25th September 2024, from 12:30pm to 4:30pm at Foundry, 6 Brindley Place, Birmingham, B1 2JB. Businesses interested in attending must confirm their participation by 12:00pm on 23rd September 2024.

This procurement opportunity is well-suited for businesses specialising in business development consultancy services, particularly those capable of providing in-depth analysis, training, research and development, or capital investments. The WMCA seeks to engage with suitably qualified, capable, and competent organisations that can contribute valuable insights and feedback to shape the final tender specification. Importantly, this pre-tender engagement presents a significant opportunity for SMEs to establish themselves in a high-growth area receiving focused investment. The initiative aims to level up economic performance and attract further investment and jobs to the region.
