Notice Title

I05 Electron Analyser

Notice Description

The scope of the contract is to supply a new electron analyser system to be used as the main detector at the high resolution branch of Diamond Light Source (DLS) beamline I05. The beamline is dedicated to high resolution ARPES in the EUV energy region (10 eV - 140 eV). The new system needs to deliver better performances than the current analyser as well as offering new capabilities like deflector mode. If the required performance can be met or exceeded using alternative designs, technologies or materials, then these will not be excluded from consideration as long as sufficient information is supplied to justify the proposed solution. If some of the technical specifications cannot be met then this should be made clear. While it is strongly preferred that all technical specifications be achieved or exceeded, proposals that do not meet every technical specification will not necessarily be rejected. Please note that DLS may require further deliveries of items described in this specification in the near future. Notwithstanding the period of validity for the acceptance of tenders, tenderers should confirm that the price quoted in their tender is valid for 12 months from the date of any contract, or, submit details of a price fluctuation mechanism that can be applied. The electron analyser system will be procured under a contract subject to this performance specification. The electron analyser system is defined as: 1. Hemispherical electron analyser. 2. Detection system. 3. Associated power supplies. 4. Control and data acquisition software and hardware (including control workstation). 5. Installation and functional test as well as final performance test at DLS. 6. Sufficient spare parts with long delivery times to guarantee operation of the system with minimum down-time for a period of at least 2 years from the date of final acceptance (e.g. any specialised UHV flange gaskets or seals, power supply modules).
