Summary of the contracting process

The East Midlands Strategic Commercial Unit (EMSCU) is initiating a tender process for the provision of Specialist Counselling and Therapy for Victims and Survivors of Sexual Violence and Abuse in Nottinghamshire. This contract, valued at £310,000, is part of a response to increased demand for support services, especially with recent initiatives such as Operation Equinox. The tender period is open until 13 December 2019, with the contract expected to run from 6 January 2020 to 31 March 2021. This procurement falls under the health and social work industry category, specifically focusing on well-support services. Interested parties must note that all therapeutic provision must be provided by qualified therapists registered with a recognised UK psychotherapy accreditation body.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in counselling and psychotherapy services, particularly those that cater to both adults and children. Companies with experience in providing therapeutic interventions for victims of trauma will be well-positioned to compete. Furthermore, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, which may foster collaboration with existing local support services to enhance the offerings. This is an ideal chance for businesses aiming to expand their services in a socially impactful sector while contributing to the broader community recovery efforts.

Notice Title

Specialist Counselling & Therapy for Victims & Survivors of Sexual Violence & Abuse in Nottinghamshire

Notice Description

**ITT DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE 25TH NOVEMBER 2019** Sexual violence and abuse is a crime which can have a devastating impact on victims and survivors who require support to help them recover from the harm they experienced. The PCC for Nottinghamshire has been working with local authorities, clinical commissioning groups & NHSE England for several years to increase and improve the support available for victims and survivors. Demand for sexual violence support has risen in recent years and there are currently long waiting lists for therapeutic support in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire. In recognition of the additional demand created by Nottinghamshire Police's Operation Equinox, and the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse Nottinghamshire Hearings, the PCC has secured funding from NHS England's High Volume Fund to provide specialist sexual violence counselling and other psychotherapy for survivors who are on waiting lists for therapy following specialist sexual violence and abuse support. The PCC wishes to award a contract to a suitably qualified provider to deliver counselling and other psychotherapy for victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse. As a mandatory requirement, all therapeutic provision must be delivered by qualified therapists who are registered with a recognised UK psychotherapy accreditation body. The contract will run from January 2020 to March 2021. The provider may be asked to support children and young people as well as adults and must work closely with existing specialist sexual violence support services in Nottinghamshire. In addition, as this is one off funding, all survivors must have completed therapy by the end of March 2020 and be safely supported into other support services if required.
