GP Direct Access Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service in Herts Valleys

Notice Description

NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (HVCCG) would like to advise the market place of their intention to procure suitable providers to deliver a GP Direct Access Ultrasound Service for their patient population registered with a GP in Herts Valleys. HVCCG intends to procure a local, direct access ultrasound service with staff qualified to appropriate levels of skill and experience, using ultrasound equipment which complies with the guidance set by the Royal College of Radiologists, connection to NHS image transfer solutions, the ability to integrate with the Electronic Referrals system (e-RS), robust performance management systems and stringent levels of clinical governance. The aim of the service will be to provide early diagnostics and diagnosis to avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care and enable management in primary care. The service will be available to all Service Users over the age of 18 registered with a Herts Valleys GP. The care pathway being commissioned is pre-appointment communication with patients, the diagnostic investigation and a full report to be sent back to the referrer To assist the CCG in ensuring the service specification is fit for purpose and deliverable there will be a pre-procurement stakeholder event to be held on Wednesday 18th July from 10.30am - 12.30pm at the following venue: Niland Conference Centre Rosary Priory 93 Elstree Road Bushey Heath Watford, Herts WD23 4EE Please confirm your attendance by emailing NELCSU.ProcurementNorthants@nhs.net by no later than 12.00pm noon on Tuesday 17th July 2018.
