Summary of the contracting process

The British Tourist Authority has issued a tender for the "BTA1059 - Awards Management Software" project, located in London, United Kingdom. The procurement process is currently in the active stage, with an open procedure and a deadline for submissions set for 26 November 2018. The total contract value is estimated at £500,000, while the minimum value is £100,000. The contract period is scheduled to commence on 7 January 2019 and conclude on 7 January 2022, as part of a strategic initiative to modernise the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence through enhanced software integration.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand their portfolios within the public sector, particularly in software development and information systems. Businesses that specialise in awards management solutions, configuration, implementation, and those with experience in creating user-friendly applications would be especially suited to compete, given the requirement for a comprehensive front-end and back-end system to facilitate both regional and national awards programmes.

Notice Title

GB-London: BTA1059 - Awards Management Software

Notice Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 20 November 2018 for the following reason: Extension of deadline(Following a strategic review of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence (VEAE), the decision has been made to modernise the awards, using a region-fed national awards system. The findings from the review highlighted that the application process needs to be simpler - currently applicants apply twice using two different systems, which are not integrated in any way. The aim is to achieve a unified awards programme that will require aligned processes and systems - it has therefore been identified that by licensing an awards management software, that is also available for the regional 'feeder' awards competitions to use, this will help to meet these requirements. The new system will need to provide a front-end website options and back-end application submission and management portal for both VisitEngland and the regional 'feeder' awards organisers, and will involve configuration, implementation, set-up and adoption for VisitEngland and currently up to 20 regional awards competitions.) Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
