Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council- Market Engagement Event for specialist contracts for Adult provision across health and social care services
Notice Description
In line with the national Transforming Care programme Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council with Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group Transforming Care Partnership have agreed over the next 12-18 months to procure a number of specialist contracts for Adult provision across health and social care services. These services are aimed at people with LD and/or autism, and/or mental health diagnosis at risk of or already demonstrating Behaviours that Challenge that can sometimes lead to very poor outcomes, including admission to in-patient health services, contact with the Criminal Justice System or poor physical health outcomes. The national service model, announced in 2015, (https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/service-model-291015.pdf) articulates the value of seamless services across health and social care, multi-disciplinary working, outcome based contracts and a shift to community-based preventative health and social care services. The purpose of the engagement is not only to support providers to better understand the requirements of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough commissioners but also to use the knowledge of the market to design services which can meet the needs of our service users, their families and carers. With this in mind we are establishing a series of workshops for both social care providers who work with the more challenging and complex individuals with LD and/or autism along with specialist LD healthcare providers to provide the broadest forum for engagement. The agenda for the first workshop will cover the following areas: * Overview of the National Programme; * Who we are in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and what it is that we are looking to achieve; * Details of the 'Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Landscape' and how specialist care and health services are currently being delivered and contracted - the challenges within the system which will be addressed; * Future planning - outline of the plans for procurement of specialist health and specialist social care services for Adults, and potentially Children and Young People * Workshop / discussions - chance to explore and influence a number of questions about the scope of contractual arrangements and the impact of moving to more outcome based contracts across health and specialist social care * Next steps: Further workshops / events are planned over the next six months.
