The course shall develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges that self-employment on release shall present for learners. The course shall allow learners to create a business plan with specialist help and advice. It should cover the following: - Personal characteristics for self-employment - Potential barriers to self-employment and solutions/guidance - Communication and team working - Decision making - Time management - Explain and present the business idea and examine strength and weaknesses - Identify the product / service - Identify potential customers - Marketing and advertising opportunities - How to create and present a business plan
