Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Waltham Forest has completed a procurement process titled "Groundworks (The Roots Service)," focusing on education and training services, with additional emphasis on health and social work services. This initiative aims to deliver a Tier 2 service to support young people's mental health, partnering with local communities across England, United Kingdom. This comprehensive service is tailored to address mild to moderate mental health needs and commenced the award stage on 20th March 2024, with contract delivery starting from 1st April 2024 through to 31st March 2027. The procurement was concluded with an awarded value of £347,164.48, facilitated by Groundwork London.

This contract presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs and VCSEs, given its focus on mental health services for young people and underserved communities such as Black males aged 5-17 in Waltham Forest. Businesses proficient in community service collaboration, mental health support provision, and partnership with educational and health institutions will find this contract particularly well-suited for their capabilities. The successful execution of this project could enhance the service provider's profile and open up future opportunities within the rapidly evolving field of community-based health interventions.
