Summary of the contracting process

Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited is inviting tenders for a highways project titled "A66 - BOQ Production," situated in the North West of the United Kingdom. This project falls under the industry category of civil engineering consultancy services, specifically focusing on the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) aligned with client standards and project-specific requirements. Potential bidders must complete their submissions by 26th December 2025, with the procurement process currently at the tender stage. The contract, valued at £50,000, will span from 1st January 2026 to 1st January 2027. This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) specialising in quantity surveying and civil engineering consultancy. As the project involves utilising federated BIM models and ensuring adherence to stringent compliance criteria, businesses with expertise in digital construction technologies and quality standards assurance will find this particularly beneficial. With the requirement to interface effectively with estimating, procurement, and engineering teams, businesses that excel in cross-disciplinary collaboration will be well-positioned to deliver value and further grow their capabilities in the public sector.
