Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council, seeking Independent Foster Care Agencies to join a new framework for the provision of foster care services. The framework, titled "ESCC/JL Framework for Independent Providers of Foster Care Services", is classified under social services and is planned to commence on 1st April 2017, running until 31st March 2019, with a potential extension of up to six years. The open tender process allows interested agencies to submit their applications before the deadline on 16th February 2017, and the initial contracting authority is located in East Sussex, UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth in the social services industry, particularly for established Independent Foster Care Agencies that align with the quality standards set by Ofsted. Agencies that can demonstrate effective business models and provide various types of placements—such as emergency, permanent, and specialist placements for disabled children—are well-suited to compete. The framework offers a chance to cater to the needs of looked-after children in East Sussex and Brighton, appealing to organisations focused on family placements within the region.
