Summary of the contracting process

The Public Health England (PHE) is currently seeking proposals for the provision of IgM Affinity Matrix, an affinity chromatography resin required for research purposes within the National Infection Service Laboratories. This procurement process is classified under the goods category with a total contract value of £30,000, and it is open for submissions until 4th March 2020. The procurement will follow an open procedure, and the resultant contract is expected to commence on 5th March 2020 and remain valid until 31st March 2023. This opportunity is located in the United Kingdom and is directed at suppliers capable of delivering resin in 500ml batches that meet specific technical specifications.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in the supply of laboratory consumables, particularly those specialising in affinity chromatography products. SMEs with expertise in providing biopharmaceutical reagents or similar goods would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, as the specifications demand proven efficacy in IgM depletion from human plasma, making it paramount for interested suppliers to demonstrate compliance with the stated requirements. Businesses with a solid track record in scientific research and development may also benefit greatly from this procurement process.
