Summary of the contracting process

NHS England & NHS Improvement is seeking to conduct an "Awareness Campaign on Inhalers" (C52043) with an estimated budget of £76,000. This initiative falls under the marketing management consultancy services category and addresses critical health issues related to asthma and respiratory conditions affecting millions in the UK. The tender process is currently in the active stage, with the tender period set to close on 22nd November 2021. Interested suppliers will need to register on the NHS e-procurement system to participate, and the anticipated contract period commences from 7th December 2021 and ends on 6th February 2022.

This procurement provides an excellent opportunity for marketing and public health communication firms, particularly those with expertise in campaign management and health sector promotion. Businesses that can effectively convey information about inhaler use, assist with public education, and engage with disadvantaged communities would be particularly well-suited to compete. This campaign not only supports NHS goals but also enables firms to expand their portfolio in a high-impact service area that directly contributes to improving public health outcomes.

Notice Title

Awareness Campaign on Inhalers (C52043)

Notice Description

It is estimated that 12.7 million people in the UK (approximately 1 in 5) have a history of asthma, COPD or another longstanding respiratory illness. Lung diseases are responsible for more than 700,000 hospital admissions and over 6 million inpatient bed-days in the UK each year, and disproportionately affect disadvantaged and protected groups and areas of social deprivation, where there is often higher smoking incidence, exposure to higher levels of air pollution, poor housing conditions and exposure to occupational hazards Inhalers are a key treatment for respiratory conditions, with about 60 million dispensed every year in England (2018 data). Making sure the right patient gets the right inhaler, and knows how to use it correctly, is critical for ensuring good patient outcomes and achieving the NHS's net zero ambition. Interested suppliers should register on the NHS England & Improvement e-procurement system here: https://health-family.force.com/login * Once logged in click 'Find Opportunities' and search for 'Awareness Campaign on Inhalers (C52043) * Click 'Register Interest' * Once you have registered your interest you will be able to view the Requirements and submit responses to the ITQ within the portal. * Any messages about the opportunity should be sent via the e-procurement system.
