Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process known as the NEA Phase 2 CPA 10 (North West 2) was initiated by the Department for Work and Pensions in the United Kingdom. This contract, valued at £3,172,028, falls within the education and training services category and was executed under an open procedure, facilitating participation from a wide range of suppliers. The contract period began on 31 March 2017 and concluded on 31 December 2020, while the associated tendering process closed on 4 November 2016. The department is located in Leeds, Yorkshire, and the programme specifically aimed to support individuals transitioning into self-employment, particularly targeting Universal Credit participants in Greater Manchester.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses focused on education, training, and mentoring services, especially those that specialise in supporting self-employment initiatives. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-placed to compete for similar future contracts. By engaging with such contracts, companies can enhance their service offerings and expand their market presence in the UK, ultimately contributing to the growth of entrepreneurship and self-employment across the region.
