Crimestoppers is a national and internationally recognised brand providing a unique service to law enforcement organisations including police forces and partner organisations such as the Environment Agency. There are other providers who will receive calls about crime and pass them to their clients, but they cannot offer the same guarantees around anonymity that Crimestoppers do. Crimestoppers take extra precautions and pride themselves on their promise, stating on their website that through this promise "vulnerable individuals and communities can stand up against crime without fear of intimidation or possible retaliation". No other organisation makes this promise of anonymity and this is what stands Crimestoppers apart from any other provider of this type of service. By using Crimestoppers the Environment Agency can help maximise receipt of information and intelligence relating to environmental crime, assisting with intelligence led enforcement by enabling the EA to allocate resources to tackle the greatest threats, risks and harm.
