Notice Description

The Tenderer should be aware that the works detailed in this package are constrained due to the nature of the location they are to be conducted in. Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes. The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance PS10m Public Liability, PS10m Product Liability, PS5m Professional Indemnity. KBS Maritime - Introduction KBS Maritime is a joint venture between KBR and BAE Systems, bringing together two global players with a rich heritage of delivering excellence, innovation and reliability. The joint venture will combine the expertise of KBR as a global leader in infrastructure asset management and services with BAE Systems' experience and capability within Portsmouth Naval Base. KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead. Project Background KBS Maritime have a requirement for a programme of 8 penstock replacements at D Lock (project number: SYS0151-01) over the next year. The penstocks will vary in duty, with pressures ranging from 6mWC to 22mWC, both on and off head. Penstocks shall be manufactured to BS7775, feature non-rising spindles and electric actuation. The successful tenderer shall be able to demonstrate experience in removing existing penstocks, designing, installing and commissioning new penstocks suitable for use in seawater. KBS Maritime also have a requirement for a programme of 11 penstock replacements at North Pumping Station (project number: SYS0152-01) over the next year. The penstocks will vary in duty, with pressures ranging from 6mWC to 22mWC, both on and off head. Penstocks shall be manufactured to BS7775, feature non-rising spindles and electric actuation. The successful tenderer shall be able to demonstrate experience in removing existing penstocks, designing, installing and commissioning new penstocks suitable for use in seawater. KBS will then have a rolling programme of 40+ penstocks to be replaced from FY24/25 to beyond 2030. The penstocks will vary in duty, with pressures ranging from 6mWC to 22mWC, both on and off head. Penstocks shall be manufactured to BS7775, feature non-rising spindles and electric actuation. The successful tenderer shall be able to demonstrate experience in removing existing penstocks, designing, installing and commissioning new penstocks suitable for use in seawater. Additional information: Contractor SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel) guidance Industry track record, confined space working, salt water environments, large and deep wells, working within MoD establishments. NIC EIC approved (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting), NACE accreditation, EN1090 execution class 3., Achillies UVDB, City & Guilds confined space level 2/3 for operatives, level 5 for managers, Welder quals to BS EN 287, Security clearance, IPAF (International Powered Access Federation), SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme), Safe Contractor.
