Notice Description

The Royal Docks (an area of East London within the London Borough of Newham) are planning to plant approximately 280 trees this planting season, with a current expectation of further planting of approximately 100-150 trees in the following planting season. To that end we are intending to issue a tender at the beginning of November. In order for your bid to be considered you will need to be able to meet all of our species and size requirements (sizes will be detailed further in the tender specification) although we will consider (at our sole discretion) changes where unavoidable. Our currently anticipated species requirements are as follows: Acer campestre (Field maple), Acer cappadocicum, Acer platanoides 'crimson king', Acer pseudoplatanus, Acer rubrum, Alnus glutinosa, Betula nigra (River birch), Betula pendula (Silver birch), Corylus avellana, Ginkgo biloba (Maidenhair), Juniperus communis (Juniper), Liquidambar styraciflua (Worplesdon), Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine), Populus tremula (Aspen), Populus tremula 'Erecta', Prunus accolade, Prunus avium 'Plena' (Plena Cherry), Prunus serrulata 'Sunset boulevard', Pyrus communis 'Conference', Quercus robur, Robinia Pseudoacacia, Salix caprea (Goat willow), Salix fragilis (Crack willow), Sorbus aucuparia (Rowan), Swamp cypress (Taxodium distichum), Taxus baccata (Common yew).
