Notice Description

Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust [MFT]. The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. HEE is seeking a provider to deliver a Global Health masters via blended learning to enable eligible individuals to undertake formal academic training in Global Health Leadership. HEE is seeking to procure the expertise and services from a supplier specialising in delivering innovative solutions that address mammography workforce shortages and increase training capacity. HEE believes that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to be able to provide the following skills/tools provided by MFT as a current supplier for the following reasons: * MFT are the only supplier as they have the Academy set up to specifically delivery training in the specialist area of Breast Imaging and are the experts in this area * MFT has one of the largest breast units in the country, the Nightingale Centre, with around 900 new breast cancers diagnosed in 2016/17 and has been one of the NHSBSP National Training Centres since 1988. MTF already has staff with the clinical and educational expertise on site, and has existing links to the other NHSBSP National Training Centres and other breast units nationally * MFT has access to expertise in advancing education and research in breast imaging and support from NHSEI Public Health (NHSEI PH), the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP), the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR), the National Breast Screening Clinical and Professional Radiology Group (Big 18), the British Society of Breast Radiologists (BSBR), the Association of Breast Clinicians (ABC), and the Greater Manchester Commissioners, together with the charities Breast Cancer Now and Prevent Breast Cancer.
