Notice Description

The Blue Belt Programme supports delivery of the U.K. Government's manifesto commitment to provide long term protection of over four million square kilometres of marine environment across the UK Overseas Territories. The programmes aims are to: *Improve scientific understanding of the marine environment; *Develop and implement evidence-based, tailored marine management strategies including surveillance and enforcement; and *Ensure management is sustainable and long term. This includes ensuring that relevant data is managed, available and accessible as required and as permitted, primarily to meet the Overseas Territories needs and requirements, but also to maximise wider benefit of the Blue Belt Programme. Requirement: To perform a high-level data review (desk study) of what the existing and historical marine scientific data is, how it is managed, accessed and used on the following British Overseas Territories (OTs); Ascension Islands, Tristan da Cunha, St Helena, British India Ocean Territory (BIOT), Pitcairn Islands, SGSSI (South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands), British Antarctic Territory (BAT).
