Summary of the contracting process

Leicester City Council is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Services for people with sight loss and dual visual and sensory impairment Service". This contract initiative aims to ensure that necessary services are available to meet statutory obligations under the Care Act 2014, supporting individuals in Leicester experiencing sight loss or sensory impairments. The procurement process is anticipated to commence in Autumn 2018, with services expected to start by 1st April 2019. Interested parties must submit their responses to the soft market testing questionnaire by no later than 12:00 hours on 22nd March 2018.

This tender provides significant opportunities for service providers in the health and social work services sector, particularly for voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) engaged in supporting individuals with sensory impairments. Businesses that specialise in health and social services, especially those offering tailored support for clients with visual and sensory needs, would be well-positioned to respond positively and leverage their expertise to potentially secure future contracts as the Council finalises its service commissioning strategy.
