Summary of the contracting process

The Canterbury City Council is seeking tenders for the provision of Fire Safety Works, with the tender process currently underway. This project falls within the building construction industry and has an estimated value of £2,000,000. The contract is expected to commence on 3rd December 2018 and conclude on 2nd December 2019. Interested contractors must submit their proposals by noon on 17th September 2018. Site visits are mandatory for all bidders, which will take place in Herne Bay and Whitstable, and adherence to the open procurement method is required as stipulated in the Invitation to Tender.

This tender creates significant opportunities for construction firms, particularly those specialising in fire safety systems and building works. Suppliers keen on securing this contract should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to deliver economical and efficient solutions. Given the emphasis on sectional completion and the need for site visits, small to medium enterprises with experience in similar projects and local knowledge of the South East are encouraged to participate, ensuring they can meet the tender specifications and timelines effectively.
