Notice Description

The works involve the clearance of debris and blockages from watercourses, including becks, streams, rivers, ditches, general culverts, highway culverts, and inlet/outlet grids to culverted watercourses and any works to existing FAS schemes. It also involves general drainage and water engineering work, new construction work related to culverts, dams, flood defence structures and investigatory/CCTV/jetting/de-silting works. The Contractor will be required from time to time to commence work of an urgent nature, sometimes outside normal working hours, on receipt of a verbal instruction from the Engineer. The Contractor shall where practicable commence work within two hours of issue of an instruction. It will also include the provision of standby and emergency call-out facilities (24 hours per day, 7 days per week) to deal with watercourse flooding and other drainage related emergencies.
