Summary of the contracting process

Bury Metropolitan Borough Council is currently conducting a tender for the "Provision of Care at Home Service," targeting the social services industry in the North West of England. This open procurement process has a deadline for submissions set for 3rd April 2017, with the contract expected to commence on 11th September 2017 and last until 10th September 2020. The framework is divided into two lots, designed to accommodate various service user groups, including adults with a range of support needs such as dementia and physical disabilities. A maximum of 12 providers will be selected for Lot 1, while Lot 2 intends to allow further market entrants as gaps in service capacity emerge.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), looking to expand their service offerings in the care sector. Companies equipped to deliver personal and social care to individuals with non-complex primary support needs will be well-placed to compete. This framework allows for flexibility in service delivery, which may suit innovative providers aiming to address diverse community needs in Bury, making it an appealing prospect for businesses focused on enhancing care services.
