Summary of the contracting process

The University of Birmingham is seeking to establish a Main Contractor Construction Framework Agreement valued between £2.5 million and £10 million, which is expected to last for 10 years. This framework aims to support various Higher Education Sector Organisations and local initiatives, ultimately fostering long-term partnerships. The tender period concludes on 5th August 2019, with the contract commencement scheduled for 2nd December 2019 and lasting until 1st December 2029. The procurement is being conducted through a selective method, specifically a restricted procedure due to its value, categorised under construction work.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for construction firms, especially those with experience in working with educational institutions or on large-scale projects. Companies that are adept in collaborative environments and interested in forming long-term relationships within the higher education sector will find this framework particularly appealing. As the framework is designed to allow participation from a variety of organisations within the sector, businesses that prioritise sustainability and community impact will also be well-positioned to compete successfully for future projects.
