Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands is initiating a procurement process for the provision of Children and Young People's Continuing Care. This tender is currently at the planning stage and aims to establish a single preferred provider model for delivering care packages. The market engagement event is scheduled for 16th May 2019 in Birmingham, with an engagement end date set for 15th May 2019. The procurement falls under the health services category (CPV code: 85100000) and serves the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses involved in health services, especially those that can provide high-quality care for children and young people with complex needs. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be particularly well-suited to compete, especially those looking to establish consistency and quality in care delivery. Interested providers are encouraged to participate in the market engagement event to gain insights and contribute feedback on the service specifications.

Notice Title

Children and Young People's Continuing Care

Notice Description

***THIS NOTICE IS FOR A MARKET ENGAGEMENT EVENT ONLY*** NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU on behalf of NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG are holding a market engagement event for the provision of Continuing Care for Children and Young People. The National Framework for Children and Young People's Continuing Care (DH 2016) provides guidance for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) when assessing the needs of children and young people whose complex needs cannot be met by universal or specialist health services. Use of the framework establishes where a package of additional health support may be needed to meet these needs, which may arise from a disability, accident or illness. Having established that a children or young person (CYP) is eligible for continuing care, an appropriate package of care is then developed. The CCG currently has a brokerage process for the allocation of package of care for CYP, and so have a variety of providers of care packages. Going forward the CCG intend for packages of care to be delivered through a single preferred provider model. It is anticipated that the benefits of this model will be: * Consistency of quality of care across BSol CCG. * Packages of care will be able to be established in a timely manner. * With a stable workforce there should be more flexibility to avoid 'missed shifts'. The market engagement event intends to engage with those providers who are interested in providing these services. The Commissioner is seeking feedback on the service specification which is attached to this advert - this can be provided initially via a survey which can be completed when applying for a place at the event via Eventbrite (see links below). The commissioner will also welcome verbal feedback on the specification and the intended direction of travel at the Market Engagement Event. The Market Engagement will be held in Birmingham on 16th May 2019 between 10am and 12 noon. Providers are able to book their place at the event via Eventbrite by following this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/children-and-young-peoples-continuing-care-market-engagement-event-tickets-60869369924.
