Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Bromley has initiated a planning stage tender for Children's Home Placements. The tender requires a residential care provider to deliver up to 5 placements for young people aged 11-15 within the Bromley estate. The contract duration is one year with a possible extension. The procurement process begins with this Expression of Interest, open for 2 weeks. The Council will use the responses to inform future tender processes anticipated to start in April 2024. The maximum budget per placement is £4,600 a week, with a total budget of £1.5 million for the procurement.

This tender from the London Borough of Bromley presents opportunities for social work and welfare service providers to secure contracts for children's care. Businesses experienced in accommodating children with complex needs, emergency placements, and DOLS requirements would be well-suited to compete. The suitability for SMEs and VCSEs indicates a potential for smaller providers to partake in this procurement. The tender aligns with social work and welfare service classifications, focusing on partnering with organisations capable of meeting specific care standards and operating within defined budget constraints.
