Summary of the contracting process

The Greater London Authority (GLA) is currently in the planning stage of the "Energy for Londoners" procurement process, aimed at supplying electricity and gas to Londoners at fair prices. The project is part of a broader ambition for London to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. The estimated contract value is £4,600,000, and the deadline for engagement is set for 23 February 2018. This opportunity falls under the category of petroleum products, fuel, electricity, and other sources of energy, with the delivery addressed to various locations in London, United Kingdom.

This procurement initiative presents significant opportunities for businesses focused on innovative energy solutions, particularly those capable of addressing fuel poverty and enhancing energy efficiency. Companies with expertise in smart technologies, renewable energy, and partnerships that can cater to the unique needs of London's diverse population would be well-suited to compete. The GLA is open to creative ideas that can contribute to fairer pricing and help residents reduce their energy consumption.

Notice Title

Energy for Londoners

Notice Description

The Greater London Authority (GLA) will be seeking a supplier to assist the GLA to set up Energy for Londoners to supply electricity and gas to Londoners at fair prices, including the fuel poor, and to deliver innovative energy services and products. The Mayor's ambition is for London to be zero carbon by 2050. The Mayor also wants the energy market to work better for Londoners, delivering fairer prices, helping Londoners reduce their energy use and make the best use of smart innovations. London has particular problems: 10% of Londoners are in fuel poverty, levels of pre-payment meters are high, levels of switching are low and London has low levels for the installation of energy efficiency measures, smart meters, and solar panels. The GLA procurement is open to innovative ideas that will deliver its desired outcomes and wants to establish a company or a genuine partnership with a company or consortium to achieve this.
