Soft Market Test : Operation of a Care Suite
Notice Description
Soft Market Test for the Operation of a Care Suite Currently the Council purchases traditional services for Older People to meet their long term care needs such as Domiciliary Care, Residential Care and Extra Care. These services have served the needs of people well for a number of years, but with the demand on services increasing every year and the resources available being squeezed, Local Authorities need to think more creatively when designing services in order to be able to meet the demand for services in the future. A Care Suite has a number of different forms and funding models but essentially it is a buildings based service rather like a supported living model where service users would hold a tenancy and access Housing Benefit which would help towards the total cost of the package. A care suite can also be delivered with dementia care and support nursing care and support. Peterborough City Council (the Council) has been researching a concept called Care Suites for the last few months and is interested to know from the market, the principle factors in making this model of care a success for all involved, families and service users, the Council and Care Providers. The Council is considering such a facility to be in place by September 2021. The council is also interested in Providers who would be interested in considering converting either all or part an existing Residential/Nursing Service to a Care Suite model. Note there would need to be a separation between a tradition residential/nursing care home and a Care Suite model.
