Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Historic England organisation, which is seeking contractors for the "Wentworth Woodhouse Phase 2 Roof and Conservation Repairs." This project falls under the category of works specifically for buildings of particular historical or architectural interest. Located in Yorkshire and the Humber, the project has reached the award stage, with key action dates including the contract start on 29th October 2018 and a completion deadline of 18th January 2021. The procurement method used is selective, following a restricted procedure, and the total contract value is approximately £4,397,393.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction and conservation businesses, particularly those with expertise in historical preservation and roofing works. Companies that can demonstrate their capability in delivering historical or architectural restorations, especially with large-scale roof projects and public engagement, would be particularly well-positioned to compete. The involvement of specialist conservators indicates the need for businesses with skills in niche areas, making this a valuable opportunity for businesses aiming to expand their portfolios in the public sector.
