Notice Information
Notice Title
CA Pumping Testing Opportunity
Notice Description
This notice is not a call for competition. The Coal Authority intends to issue the call for competition on or after 9th June 2018 The Coal Authority was established by Parliament to undertake specific statutory duties, set out in the Coal Industry Act 1994, associated with licensing coal mining operations; managing property and the historic legacy arising from the ownership of the coal reserves and underground workings; settling subsidence damage claims not falling on coal mine operators and providing access to coal mining information. This requirement will be for provision of pumping testing at a site in the northwest of England. The test is intended to assess the potential for reduction of the Level Zero blow out risk through the reduction of head within the mine workings. The site is remote and steep, access and ground conditions may present challenges. The key technical requirements are included in the attachment provided in this notice. In addition it is expected that the contractor satisfy the general Coal Authority expectations and all legal obligations when conducting the works. For further information, please contact: Gareth Billings - garethbillings@coal.gov.uk or Peter Kobryn - peterkobryn@coal.gov.uk
