Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is initiating a tender process for the provision of GP services under the Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) framework for the Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre. This opportunity falls within the health and social work services industry category, with a contract anticipated to commence on 1 October 2017 and potentially extend until 30 September 2022. A market engagement event is scheduled for 24 January 2017, following which a formal procurement advertisement is expected in mid-February 2017. Interested organisations must express their intent to participate by 12:00pm on 23 January 2017.

This tender presents an opportunity for GP service providers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs), to engage in a growing market. Given the projected increase in registered patients at the Kirkby practice, organisations with capabilities in delivering high-quality primary medical services and a commitment to collaborative care may find themselves well-positioned to secure this contract. Providers are expected to deliver essential medical services and drive initiatives aimed at promoting health in the local community.
