Notice Description

Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award to The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. HEE is seeking a provider to in developing a preceptorship training programme for Physician Associates (PAs) in Hospital Eye Services (HES), to support the increasing demand for Ophthalmology services. HEE believes that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to be able to provide the following skills/tools provided by The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) as a current supplier for the following reasons: Development of a 'preceptorship' for PAs in HES, incorporating the Ophthalmic Practitioner Training (OPT) Programme. Development of an additional career pathway for PAs to support workforce retention, aligned to the MAPs Career Development Framework Support reduction in waiting lists through introducing PAs as a new roles and adopting new ways of working Coordinating and working with employers to pilot the preceptorship across HES sites https://health-family-contract-search.secure.force.com/?SearchType=Projects All communications should be made via the messaging function on the Health Family eTendering portal. If any provider has concerns with the commissioning intentions outlined within the published documentation, please raise this via the eTendering Portal in the first instance within 30 days of the date of this Prior Information Notice. The financial envelope for this PIN is PS300,000 The closing date of this PIN is midday on 22/03/2023
