Notice Title

CONSULTANCY FOR DISTRICT HEAT NETWORK FEASIBILITY STUDIES

Notice Description

Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has secured funding from the Government's Heat Network Delivery Unit to undertake feasibility studies for the development of heat networks in two areas within the Borough; Ellesmere Port and Chester. In addition to the Feasibility Studies, this Specification requires a tandem assessment of the multi-vector energy usage within the Ellesmere Port industrial corridor. A recently completed a heat mapping, energy masterplanning and initial techno-economic feasibility study was commissioned by the Council and undertaken by external consultants during 2015/2016. The study identified potential network opportunities within Ellesmere Port and a further network opportunity in Chester. This tender is to move the two areas forward and is concerned with securing expertise, capability and tools; in multi-vector (heat and electricity) modelling and energy assessment of buildings, clusters of buildings, and district energy systems over large areas. Previous studies by CWAC have initiated and progressed a preliminary understanding of the energy usage in the two geographies identified.
